First Article Inspection
What is the First Article Inspection?
The First Article Inspection (FAI), also called Initial Quality Control, usually happens right after the manufacturer starts producing the first mass production samples. We will send our inspector when 1% to 10% of your ordered quantity has been produced. This product inspection is usually performed at the factory.
What do we check during a First Article Inspection?
Quality of the raw materials and components used in the production, first production samples according to your approved samples or specifications, cooperation of the factory, double checking of the understanding of your demands by the factory, production schedule and production processes control, in-house quality control checks.

Collection of samples: Free of charge.
During your inspection, our inspector can pick up some production samples and send it to you using your courier account. It could be defective samples or proper sample or one export carton, this is up to you to decide.
Night overtime: $50 per hour.
Normally the inspector shall stay maximum till 5 or 6PM at the factory since he must go back home or office and also establish his inspection report. However, from time to time inspectors shall stay after 6 PM till sometimes late, in order for example to wait for late production or in order to supervise a late container loading or in order for example to implement the necessary corrective actions for some urgent shipments.
Western Inspector or Western expert (textile, electronic, furnitures etc): $100 + travel expenses.
